In celebration of Pride Month, I pitched an idea to explore self expression through hair within the queer community and we launched our "Hair Stories" campaign.
The photo series stars five individuals from the queer community who speak about how they uniquely embrace their body hair and how it is a form of positive self-expression and identity.
“For queer people, hair is a way to assert that we don’t need to follow all the ‘rules’ set out by society…you can express yourself however you want. You don’t need to let the norms limit you.” — @jasminthebaptist (they/them).
“You can be just as much of a woman with body hair or without. Hair is natural—it’s the human body and you shouldn’t be ashamed of it. And I hope by doing my hair the way I do, I can help all women feel that for themselves.” — @jostynn__ (she/her)
